My 55 plate 1.9 Superb (which I purchased with money I earned by working hard) had been keyed for the third time in three months by some filthy pikey (who does not work and lives off of my taxes). All three scratches are about 1.5 feet long and go all the way through the paint. Rge pikey criminal has scratched the rear NS wing and all accorss the boot. What is the best thing to do - will I have to get the entire boot and wing sanded / stripped and then resprayed?

As a point of interest, despite my wife and I having made several reports to the Police, they have done nothing. The first time I called, they sounded very interested, however 10 minutes in to the conversation they said "do you mind telling us what colour you are" to which I replied "white", they then immediatly lost interest and said someone would be investigating it. Despite my wife and I chasing them up, all they did was send us a letter saying "we are sorry you have been a victim of crime"

Cant wait to get out of Britain

Nightmare that Chris. When you say Pikey's, do you mean that you've got them squatting near you?

We had some on our estate last week but fortunately we are classed as private property so they were pretty quickly removed but they did do a lot of damage.

What I "inferred" from them asking my ethnicity is that they had no interest in looking in to the crime once they knew I was white. What Im "implying" is that if I was an ethnic minority, the police would be more likley to have looked in to the crime as they would have feared being called racist and biased if they had not. Hope thats clear.

You know the sort - do no work, every other word is f**k, live in a house paid for out of the £25K tax the govt takes from off me each year. I bought my house 8 years ago (you know, worked in a factory to fund my degree, got a job, worked hard for years, saved money, bought house) and in the last 8 years, five of the houses in my street have been purchased by the local housing association (using my tax money), completly gutten and renovated - so they are better than my one - and they have stuck various fat pikeys in them who have never dona a days work in their lives.

Sorry for the rant, but my family and I decided today that we will be joining the 200,000 hard working, useful, law obiding citizens who will leave the UK this year to get away from the increasing number of spongers and vermin the government seems keen to encourage.

That is all my and my wifes tax - income tax (wife does not pay any as only works a few hours), NI, water, council tax and what we calculate we pay on tax on what we spend.

Anyone with an income of £60K will lose £19 of that and then pay 17% VAT on anything they spent and about 3 times that on fuel.

Anyhow, I have just been made redundant so have a possible income of £0 if I cant make any money out of a new business Im setting up! (selling car scratchers to pikeys)

i do sympathise with whats happened to your motor..nothing worst than going through expense putting it right....we have a pikey rumaging through our skip at work, picks outs all sorts of rubbish that might make him some money......he puts it to one side and says he'll be back in a weeks time, and the real travelling pikeys come and take the lot hehe

I,ve had my drivers side front wing done, it's either been key'd or some young brat has run his bike handle bars down it whilst riding on the pavement and to top it of 3 days later someone has opened a door on to the same wing and dented just above the wheel arch where the crease is, so cant even have dent master look at it! only positive is its all on the same wing!

One thing is for sure, "the police dont care" and thats why these scumbags go about doing it. So far the car has been keyed three times and each time the police have shown no interest. There are bloody great fingerprints left all over the car right now - the police know this and yet wont bother to come out to look at it or take copies of them.

About six other cars have also been keyed lately and yet the police have done nothing. Sorry if you think Im on my soap box, but if you paid all the dosh I do and were ignored by the police when you wanted their help, I doubt you would be too happy mate.

Im sure they are spending their time on something of value to the community and that protecting my property from being wrecked by spongers is unimportant.

Nah, it's okay. I didn't mean you specifically were on a soap box, I just meant that this conversation was getting a little polarised.

Anyway, I have done and they've ignored me, I did have my car keyed (still not repaired as Baker & Si will testify) and I've been hit by an uninsured and indeed unlicensed driver, who then left the scene. They didn't care then either.

Oh, and for the record I've had people riot inside my pub and seen a shotgun pushed in my dad's face.

Portsmouth is a busy place, and the Police there are horrendously overstretched and under-resourced. I know, I worked there until a year ago.

The vast majority of time is spent chasing up crimes that are related to drug and alcohol abuse - I'm sure you'd rather have the drunks and druggies locked up than hassling you in town every time you went shopping...

Of course, if someone were to abolish all the bloody paperwork we have to do then we could perhaps spend more time out on patrol looking for the scumbags who damage peoples cars (I personally would like nothing more than to actually see someone scratching a car - I just know they would try to resist arrest...)

Re the fingerprints on your car. The problem is that they don't prove that they scratched your car, even though we all know that's probably the case.

Hell, referring to my story (briefly, 4 hooded men at 1am knocked on door demanding keys to 3 week old Civic Type R, then threw paving slab through window and began climbing in which 'encouraged' me to throw the keys out) the police actually arrested 2 men the next day in possession of my keys and had to release them because they had 'no evidence'! When I sounded indignant about it I was told "we can't just go locking people up with no evidence!". So a few dabs on your car? Go figure.
