Hi, my favorit pickup doesn't idle when its cold, i put it in a garage and the mechanic tells me its the spring in the auto choke is knackered, can i get these from skoda still or is there a cheaper place?

I've used Welcome To Southern Carburetters in the past for bits.

Odds on Southern Carbs can offer you a choice of routes to go:-

1) Standard replacement carb

2) Manual choke conversion

3) Weber replacement conversion

4) Repair kit.

ok, i rang southern carbs, they say they don't rebuild jikov carbs and they don't have a webers replacement. I heard the there might be a vauxhall carb thats similair and may fit. Has anyone done this or got any info?

O does anyone konw if this will fit?

The carb jetting might or might not be correct; you'd need to check the power of the 136 Rapid against your Favorit.

The supplied linkage adaptor and designed carb orientation also might or might not be correct. I can't comment in detail there, but most of the Weber direct replacement kits are pretty well engineered for making the throttle cable pull the right way off the standard bracket, and a fair few of them included castings to retain the stock airbox. I'd want a foam or cotton gauze filter rather than a wire one though.
