Valeo wiper blades wear out fast??

Featured Replies

Has anyone got any experience of Valeo wiper blades.I bought a set off wiperblades.co.uk to replace the Bosch Aerotwins I had before which suffered really badly from lift and which I was never really happy with. The wiping performance of the Valeos is really excellent but although I only bought them in April, they seem to have worn out already! They come with built in wear indicators which are both showing. Also they're streaking like hell and no amount of vinegar or cleaner resolves this.Obviously there's a load of things that will affect how long wipers last but 4 months and less than 10,000 miles is certainly the shortest time that I've ever experienced - although there's been more of it recently, I haven't noticed that the rain's getting more abrasive!I've emailed wiperblades about this directly too but does anyone else have any experience?

I'm so glad to hear that someone else has had problems with Bosch aeros lifting off. I though I was the only one.

Can't comment on the Valeo ones as never used then but we have had a lot of rain since April ;)

I'm gonna replace mine with some PIAA ones. They are expensive but nothing else is anywhere near as good.

With me it's the other way round. Standard Bosch blades were disintegrating. Changed over to aeros and couldn't be happier.

Yes, I had this on our very low mileage Lupo. I'ver had no problems with Bosch (but not aerotwins)- use them all the time

Hi,

I worked in a motor factors for years. We stocked and sold a lot of Bosch Blades but changed to Valeo. After changing we noticed the sale of wiper blades had reduced and customer feedback was not in favour of Valeo.

I have fitted a set of the aero blades to my Fabia vRS and decided to keep the sticker on. My son pulled it off and after three months the yellow warning triangle was displayed showing that it needed new blades.

I asked a friend to contact Valeo and they said that they were having problems with the notification system on the blades because of the excessive rainfall we are having and that they are "looking at it"

I must admit that the wiping and cleaning performance is on par with Bosch. I generally clean my windows everytime i fill up the washer bottle. At the same time i wipe the blades as well.

I have valeos on both the Fabia and the Octavia. They have been on the car since February and are still wiping fine but the yellow sticker did start to annoy me last week so I've simply peeled it off and stuck it back on the underside of the wiper so I can't see it.

Yeah, I was willing to ignore the yellow sticker but am now struggling to see it when it's raining because the wipers streak really badly because the blades are shot.

Got a response from wiperblades.co.uk (has anyone else noticed how good their service is?) They tend to agree that 4 months is a bit quick but with the weather being as it is think that it's probably a contributing factor.

I've bought a new set from them and they say that if these wear fast too, then they'll have a look again.

Can't say much fairer than that!

Sounds like a reasonable response and yes thier service is excellent in my experience.

That happened on our Lupo, after < 6 months. The car only does 3k miles a year.

I've used them a few times as no factors around stock Bosch- they say they are too expensive.
