detailing help please

Featured Replies

Hi Folks,

having just come back from two weeks on a camp site in the south of France, my Octy is now COVERED in pine tree sap and dead flies (courtesy of the autoroutes and 32degree heat)

I've tried hot soapy water, degreaser, panel wipe and t cut () and none of it works particularly well.

What grade/colour of clay bar do I need and where is the best place to get it from?

Anyone on here a detailing god??

I'd suggest the Bilt Hamber Clays as you can use water as the lubricant and they tend not to mar as easily as some other clays

Be prepared to polish and then wax the car again after doing this.

Have you tryed megs body solvent, this usually works for me to get the thick off before claying.

For a note in future, remember to take some QD and a **** load of MF cloths, Give the car a wipe over morning and night and it will save you a lot of hassle later

AG tar remover removes anything too  just put a bit on to a cloth or kitchen roll, hold it over the offending area and it will disolve it and then can be easily wiped off.
