The section below your stereo . . .

Featured Replies

How do you remove the section beneath your stereo? (the cubby hole bit) Does it just pop out or does it need unscrewing?

I'm fairly sure it just pops out, but I've only ever done it with the radio out, so that may have been holding it in.

I had to remove the glove box to get my hands behind it. Probably didnt have to but I found it easier.

stereo out first then just pull it out. its a bloody tight fit though.

It just pulls out.

If you put your hand into the cubby hole, you will find that the top is an open grid. You can grab hold of the grid and pull it out. In mine, the stereo also moved, as the clips are bent.

I found 2 "tabs" to either side of the cubby hole. Used a tiny screw driver to pop these out, once out you can get your fingers behind it and pull it out gently but firmly. No scratches or damage. It is a tight fit though as mentioned, so be careful.
