Tyre Pressures

Featured Replies

Picky up my Furby vRS at the weekend and I'm enjoying it, but something the dealer said didn't quite ring true.

I was told the tyre pressures weer 30psi all around (I'd made a point of asking as I can never remember how to convert from KPa to PSI).

When I filled it up I looked at the panel on the inside of the flap to see the two values were different 230KPa (F) and 220KPa ® which a phone call to Skoda Customer Services said worked out as 33.5 and 32 PSI respectively.

Considering the huge difference between the two sets of values can anyone confirm what customer services said as being correct?

If they are right they need to tell their dealers what the pressures should be as the fronts are around 10% out.

Thanks for any replies.

I always go on what the handbook/filler flap says regardless of what the dealer or anyone else says.

kPa is quiet simple IMHO. For 230kPa read 2.3 BAR. Most pumps have BAR and PSI on them. To convert BAR to PSI multiply by 14.508 or so I believe.

kPa into PSI multiply by 0.145

In this case customer services appears correct and your dealer incorrect.

Most people seem to run 34 psi front and 32 psi rear

put this in, saves lives and IMO works. tyres not lost any pressure in 9 months
