155 mph - 0-60 in 6.4 secs & its a Diesel

Featured Replies

Saw this at the motorshow, read a report in Autoexpress, it had better acceleration while travelling on the autobahn in germany than a porsche or big merc.

I read that the twin turbos are set up so that the large one spins up to take the very low revs, by 3000 rmp both turbos are spinning, and the large turbo cuts out by 3500rpm, leaving the smaller turbo to continue giving power. ( this seems like the same concept as a supercharger )

" can they do the twin turbo trick to the Furby ?"

Surely the small one spools up first?

Smaller turbo = less to spool up then let the big un give it some once you're going......

sod diesel's, stick the twin turbo's on an octavia 4x4, now that would be fun

Whichever way round ?(

Whichever way round it is , it's still a Vauxhall ............... .............nuff said !

Don't you just love those Frontera's ........... ;)

That sounds as silly as:

You're driving ... a SKODA??

Never owned a Vauxhall, but I'd happily have a Vectra with one of these engines. As long as it came with 4wd ;)

My thoughts were if GM are managing this VAG & the French have generally been ahead on Diesel Design so what have they got planned, also remember the top speed of this is restricted to 155, what can it actually do? Does this mean a 200 mph Diesel Furby is a possibility !!!

Doubtful. It'd probably take off!!

Actually quite like em! My folks have a MK2 2.2LWB, have had it since 96, not given them any grief and makes a very good towcar - I know you love your caravans ;)

It's quiet, well screwed together and pulls pretty well (only 140bhp but a heap of torque), they don't deserve the bad press the Mk1 got.

i dont like vauxhalls but strangly quite like the vectra / signum... and in value terms they make skodas look pricy at 6mths old.......
