Yes they are blue leather, grey leather would of matched the rears better, but they suit the 'Deep Sea blue' of the car quite well IMO

I have a dark grey Superb classic (base model) 1.9 TDi 130 bhp.

I got it really recently and wasn't too pleased in the beginning because I came from a 3.0i V6 petrol to the Superb and the handling just disappointed.

So a month later I have 17'' alloys on it and lowered Eibach springs (30mm). That sorted the ride enough for now. I mean don't get me wrong it's not a drivers car but it's FAR more useable around town. For example last night I threw it into a roundabout at 40mph and there was a little tyre screech but hardly any body roll at all. Plus it looked like a tractor on original suspension when I got it.

The 130 bhp engine is pretty solid and can't be described as slow either. It pulls well. However I also threw a dragon tuning box on there and it feels more responsive now. From a stand-still start it's not lightning quick because of the short ranged gearbox but it's no slouch either. From 30-70 in 3rd is pretty impressive.

Long story short is now I'm reasonably happy with it. The colour makes the car in my opinion. The larger alloys and lowered suspension make it look and feel more planted on the tarmac.

I only want to retrofit cruise control sometime too, only for the increased mpg on motorways.

Be aware the classic model has less sound proofing on it and so is a tad noiser. It saves weight though which means higher mpg's. As for the sunroof, had them in the past and never used them, find them useless and so often they cause problems down the line with water leaks. Happy mine doesn't have one but it's personal preference I guess.

BEFORE: Standard suspension and 16'' steels.

After: Alloys and 30mm drop on springs. Also decluttered the badging at the rear.

Incidentally if anyone has a link for the cruise control stalk to retrofit I'd appreciate it.

Retrofit cruise is a really cheap job - control stalk is about £30 from GSF, then find someone with VAGCOM to enable it if necessary. It works well.

How much was the spring kit? did you just replace the springs or have you done the shocks as well?

The springs were around £160 and no I didn't touch the shocks.

In fairness people will tell you that the shocks need doing too, but in reality they probably don't unless you're planning to tow with the car or hit speed humps at 50mph. The Eibach's are designed to be used in conjunction with the standard shocks. I dropped mine by 30mm, although I hear 40mm is still acceptable for standard shocks .... figured 40mm might look a little better but didn't warrant shelling out £400 for new shocks.
