I've just finished giving my Black Magic vRS a good clean and it's looking good.

It is the first real clean I've given it since I bought it a month ago.

Once all the dirt and dust was off I have now spotted two really small scratches.

There is one near the handle on the drivers door and another on the rear spoiler.

It looks to me like they were possibly caused by a wedding ring or similar.

These scratches are not that big, difficult to notice and certainly not that deep - however they are of course silver on an otherwise black blanket.

Obviously I don't need chip removal here - so I'd say the likes of the Dr. Colourchip kits is a little bit overkill for these two small scratches.

Can anyone recommend an idiot proof scratch repair kit for me to order in?

I say idiot proof - basically I have two small scratches now - I don't want to start "repairing" them and ending up having to have panels re-sprayed

i use mcguares(sp) "scratch x" works wonders for me.

You could try Autoglym's Super Resin Polish to see if they come out.

I've heard that Brasso is actually very good - keep meaning to pick some up and address the efforts of the alley cats behind work......

the dark shine stuff from autoglymm is excellent, just put a coat of wax on over the top.

The two AG ones have fillers in them so will mask the marks rather than remove them. If it's a fine scratch, then scratchX should work quite well.

Follow it with a coat of a car sealant such as Autoglym EGP, Turtlewax GlossGuard or a wax such as colli 476s. The scratchX will remove any protection you already had there.

Hopefully the above will rid me of the two small scratches on what looks to be an otherwise perfect condition paint job.

As above really. I'd use Scratch X, followed by Autoglym Super Resin Polish, then EGP and/or wax. The first two steps may require more than one application.
