Hopefully Lummox will read this........

Picked up my Bora 150 TDI Sport yesterday and LOVE it!!!

Anyway, i've noticed that after the car has been running a while and up to temperarture, the fans come on alot, i'd say every 2mins or so??

Only reason i ask is because i had the 130 TDI engine in my Fabia vRS and cant remember hearing the fan on that much??

The temp gauge sits bang on half way constantly.

Any help would be great!!

i dont know too much about it but i do know that there is a fan mod which is mentioned alot on uk-mkivs

I've read about that- apparently the fan controller is prone to failure.

Yeah, thanks guys, just found this and i'll be ordering one of Tamer's little boxes. Seems this is a excellent long term fix??

History is that since the coilovers were done, the front-left top mount has aways creaked on turning; classic top mount sound of juddering movement. I've tried rotating the spring a little in case that's a difference but I need to do try some more just to make sure I haven't forgotten anything. In the meantime, the front right has developed a creak which is different. It's a heavier creaky rubber feel to it which is triggered on minor movement/weight shift. Going over speedbumps obviously makes

I have a 2014 diesel octavia estate 1.6 blk edition. Lately, and since service my mpg is alot lower than normal. I understand my car is old but recently ive noticed im using more fuel. Ive asked my usual mechanic and hes replied with the expected answer i thought hed suggest which is weather, tyres, speed, fuel prices and that mpg is never ro be trusted. Im not taking fuel prices into consideration as im seeing my fuel being used up more. Mpg today has been 34,on a route i normally use and get

Hi all, Recently picked up a 2017 1.0 TSI. Every time I start the car there’s a noticeable ticking/rattling noise that lasts around 45 seconds then stops completely. Happens on every start, not just cold. Car runs perfectly once warm with no issues at all. Has anyone experienced this on the 1.0 TSI EA211 engine? I’ve read it could be the Turbo actuator rod linkage? Car was serviced by Skoda main dealer a month ago. Any experience or advice appreciated. Video link of said noise: https://y

It may be a conceit, but I believe I have a reasonable idea on how to get good mpg from an ICE vehicle, especially around our urban environment and without breaking laws. I don't hyper-mile or drive slowly or do anything to annoy other drivers, I just allow a couple of extra metres and anticipate traffic conditions. I'm also aware that there is a difference in best economy and best efficiency of an ICE engine. I've got no real experience with EVs other than the occasional drive, but I am intere
