I've just started a relationship with a 2001 1.4 16v Fabia. Trouble is I can't/don't know how to get get her engine cover off, (story of my life). Has to be a simple answer??

If it's anything like the Octavia the engine cover is held on with some sprung plastic screws, you just press down on them with a screwdriver, and twist them slightly and they will spring up (you don't have to unscrew them), then the cover pops off.
