drop links, easy DIY job?

Featured Replies

Hello.

My car failed mot on these both sides ( i knew one would it been clunking a bit for a week or so now )

They look pretty straightforward to change. Looks like all I need is the car up, the wheels off for access and a couple of nuts off and that's it.

Am I right?

and where is a good place to get the parts from, do GSF or ECP do 'em? Skod dealer quoted £19 + VAT each - having a laugh

cheers

That's not that bad. Doing the job takes 20mins a side, the hardest thing being taking the wheel off.

Mine had this problem on the front right, had dealer telling me that my steering column had gone (£600) causing the knocking noise, my brother suggested the DL and it was fixed with an £8 part... bonza

Really easy to do. Should lift up both sides at the same time, so the links are at the same tension IIRC. Get new self-locking nuts at the same time for a perfect job....
