Just sell it and buy a MKII, you know you want to :)

Tbh I'd rather eat my own head. No offence but the Mk2 does nothing for me. Too refined for my liking, I like a bit of rough;)

Don't forget to boil it first :)

Take the front off it only takes 5 minutes.

Failing that to the left of the pic above the inlet manifold there is a little bulb type thing with a tube coming off it going back to a Y connector, give it a prod with the engine running to see if the hissing gets worse.

Right I've had a dig around and there appears too be something hissing loudly too the far right of the engine block.(No snake jokes please)

Any pointers as to which hose is the culprit as I can't see 5hit down there, it's ram out tbh.

On or off boost?

If your turbo is that side, i'd hazard a guess to the pipe to or from the intercooler.

Sorry but i don't know the VRS engine layout.

Limp moments are just not for the win! lol

Give these men a Cigar http://briskoda.net/octavia-i/breather-pipe-octavia-mk1-vrs/123236/

They got it spot on it's the same one as Martzini's, Des was spot on with his observation about the crankcase breather then this one going. I'll pick up the part in the morning and job done by lunchtime. Woo-Hoo

Nice one hope the fault doesn't reoccur.

Mine never showed any faults when the pipes split, Thats Ecus for you

Mine just popped the EML on the way home. Now showing the 17705 code and the 17544. No worries though all in hand ;). Martin how did you know yours was playing up without the code as mine drives pretty much normal, the only give away was the limp mode......Until now

I heard the hissing, there was also a smell of oil in the cabin plus the car was jerky on part throttle acceleration.

I thought it must have been the map as it was a new one, but it wasn't.
