1.9 tdi acceleration

Featured Replies

Hi

Does anyone have any in-gear acceleration times 30-50, 50-70 for the 1.9 tdi roomster?

Thanks

They would be similar to a MK5 Golf SE with the same engine.

The Golf would have a slight edge going up to 70.

I haven't got the figures for the roomster but for a fabia estate 1.9 tdi 30-70 thru the gears is 11.2 and 50-70 in 5th is 11.5 they should be pretty similar although it does feel faster than that on the road.Plenty of power for any occasion really

It's quite a bit quicker when tuned then ;)

Hmm ... just had p-torque remap my Audi 2.5 Tdi and I can't believe what a difference it made, hugely more enjoyable, blasts thru the gears now ...

I can feel a remap of the new Roomster 1.9Tdi getting moved up, first intended to let a year go by, but after driving mine its like night and day, so think the Roomster will be getting similar treatment ASAP.

Well mines doing 0-60 in the low 9's at the moment, and to quote a member of the awesome GTi Staff "That is the best handling small car I have ever driven"

It was in last week for more fettling (details to follow) and I am inclined to agree :D

Yeah, must admit ... the Scout 1.9Tdi on 17" alloys handles very well and no where near as crashy over the bumps as I predicted. We live out in the sticks and have some poor road surfaces to cover. Not really convinced by the Dunlop tyres (prefer Toyo), but with ESP it seems perfectly manageable.

What I am amazed by is the overall handling package, quite taut, quite flat in a bend, good grip, very sharp turn-in ... great, great fun to drive ... missus now refuses to drive my Allroad (it can wallow without the ARB on), have to prise the Roomster keys out of her hand!

Anyway, think I've convinced her to "loan" me the keys for a day soon, so can feel the second trip to Will coming on ... extra torque and 140bhp in the Roomster will be very interesting ;-)

Will did Mine, and it now has a Whiteline front ARB, Neuspeed rear ARB, Eibachs, PD160 and pipercross filter.

It probably handles better than my Mk2 vRS did on FSD's and Eibachs. It grips, is not crashy and is totally flat in corners. With the extra few ponies on tap it surprises a lot of people, the thing is that now my chassis can handle so much more than the PD105 can punt out ....... but it is fun using it:D

Wanna bet? I'm close to that figure (136) and it's indeed very interesting. Not saying that it's a fast car now, it's definitely WAY quicker than most can imagine of a Roomy.

Only downside is that, mine being without traction control, it generates wheelspin up to second gear:rofl:

0-60? No idea. Under 11 secs I'd guess.

Thats not far from where mine is although I have a crap power band. I have time to 9.6 although this is me with a SW

I did mine on Dynolicious with the piephone :) now it's not exact but I have uploaded the weight's and extimated a 15% transmission loss. I did this with Dave (Fatty5000's Octy vRS) and we both agreed it was pretty much spot on.

Mine came back as 156bhp (The graph shows 157 but I am not interested in the figure but the before and after results) and 0-60 was 9.24 seconds on it's best run.

It's not that precise but I would say it "feels" like it's pulling hard and achieving low(ish) 9's. Not bad for a shopping trolley:D
