Goodbye golf gti HELLO Octy mk1

Featured Replies

Hi all . Just picked up a mk1 Octavia vrs in black magic After selling my mk4 golf gti 1.8t. My golf was around 200 bhp after remap but delivered the power no where near as smoothly as the octy. I think these have a slightly bigger turbo ?

Modded the hell out my golf and in my oppinion think i ruined what was once a nice car. However i am interessted in having this remapped at some stage as it doesn't offer that low down torque that i am used too. Any recomendations ?

Had a chipped uk before but have come across a place called DNA tuning in stratford upon avon that say he will do for £170. Confused

Welcome to Briskoda.

The vRS has the Ko3s turbo, if you had a 150bhp GTi it would probably have been the K03 turbo (I think only the 180bhp anniversary GTi had the K03s turbo)

The vRS should remap to 210-215 easily, add another 10-15 on top of that if you have a turbo back exhaust and induction mods.

£170 sounds ridiculuosly cheap for a remap... most people are paying about double that. Check out the site sponsors and the sigs of people in the Octy 1 forums for an idea of the remaps that are out there.
