Taylored mats

Featured Replies

The new motor is missing the drivers foot well mat can you buy them individually or is a full set job??? any recomendations??

AFAIK you have to buy the set if you want the genuine skoda stuff, about £40 if I remember rightly!

I know with the Official Fabia vRS one's you can buy all four seperately so might be worth asking at the local stealers.

Cheers

Dave.

£40? That seems kind of cheap for genuine mats. Can anyone confirm this?

£49.00, sorry. was close :P

Close enough, cheers!

Cheap enough I guess. Top spec mats at Halfords (Cannon) are about £40, so relatively I guess it's good value.

I'm hoping they sell the fronts seperate myself, mine are creamed.

Reckon the Halfords set will last any longer?

The OE (it's an Elegance) carpet mats lasted a bit over 2 years before a small hole started to appear. Bought a set of Skoda rubber fronts to save money - false economy, they are very lightweight and I've now got a big hole in my mat. And no, my feet aren't that big! :D

cheers

Hmm, I'm not sure. I'm currently running a set of Cannon mats in my Superb, which have been in two other cars previously. They're about 2 years old and they're still going strong, although the carpet is starting to lift on one of them.

I've never had genuine mats so I can't comment on those - but the Cannon ones are effectively rubber with large carpet sections. The heel bit is rubber - so perhaps this may influence the life.

cheers bluefox - guess I'll give them a go. Do I need to look for a set for a Passat or is Superb included in the list?

The Cannon mats are in two shapes, 1 or 2. All I know is they were bought for a Vectra B and they fit fine - the Superb probably won't be listed. I think mine's a set 1, but I'm not 100% sure.

Regardless they're cut to shape anyway, so it's almost pointless having different shaped versions. Ask the staff if you can try one - if they give you grief tell them customer services sent you :D

I have the original carpet mats covered with the Skoda Rubber mats in my 3yr old Elegance. Both carpet and rubber mats are still like new. The rubber mats are anything BUT lightweight??

Regards

John

Not lightweight? not the same as mine then. They're embossed with the Skoda logo but deffo pretty cheap. :thumbdwn:

I put mine down to it being an auto I scrub the mat with my heal switching pedals.

IMHO I think any mats are generally a bit pants, in one respect or another. There seems to be nothing on the market that'll last...

Anyway, which would we all prefer? Worn mats every 2-3 years or worn carpets? :P
