anyone used anyone like chips away for getting some scratchs and chips sorted was the price job reasonable????

I used chips away on my MR2 after reversing into my dads car. DOH!, They did a cracking job.

I paid £80 for a 6" x 6" respray IIRC

Funny enough I had a chips away bloke here yesterday.

I've got a Silver Octy Mk1 with stone chips on the bonnet & above the windscreen, a couple of light scratches on passenger door, a deeper scratch on the bottom of the left wing, lacquer peeling from spoiler, a couple of scratches to the face of 2 alloys and some kerbing of the front 2 alloys.

I was told:

"The bonnet, roof and spoiler will need a bodyshop, mainly due to the size of the panels and the fact the car is silver. The deep scratch on the wing can be done as the lacquer can be blended and the couple of marks on the passenger door will probably machine out. The 2 rear alloys can be done but the front 2 need to be sent away to Spit N Shine for refurb."

Decided, as it will need bodyshop, I will end up getting them to do the lot (when funds allow lol).

Was a speedy response though, spoke to him on the phone in the morning and he was here in the afternoon.

This is what the company we use (Shine) tell us when quoting in store - if it's bonnet or roof, it's a bodyshop job effectively.

As for Shine, everything I've seen them do has been top notch - although of course I have heard horror stories, as you would with any company to be fair.

Can anyone recommend a reasonable bodyshop in the Surrey area? Or what sort of cost is involved in the bonnet/roof/spoiler respray?

I work for volkswagon delivering parts to bodyshops in and around surrey so i can give you a few names of some ones i think are good.

ambassador are prob the best because they are specialist in aston martin, maserati and ferrari so there work has got to be good.
