When going around corners in my fabia vrs

Featured Replies

the rear drivers side wheel makes a slight rubbing noise but only when taking the corner/roundabout only slightly faster than the standard motorist.

Also in the summer I heard a a litte squealing noise from the car (only with window down) at low speed, it sounded like the brakes because if I dabbed the brake or put the hand brake on a touch it would go away.

So 2 issues above. If I took the car to a dealer would they easily detect these on ramp?

I'm thinking wheel bearing for the first issue, the thing is if I don't have the radio on and do a round about or corner I can always hear a very quiet rubbing noise but that don't matter which direct I turn.

p.s I have very good hearing and I think it works overtime in the car!

Wheel bearings tend to rumble. Jack the wheel off the ground and feel for play. Might be worth adjusting.

I get the squealing sound you describe, but only after i've taken it for a play round the country back roads. I'm thinking in my case it's because the heat has expanded something that's rubbing against the brake disk as it goes away once the wheels have cooled.

is it obvious to a mechanic if bearing have gone when it's on the ramp? the thing is I think soemthing is not right, but everytime I go in for other issues I have had they just say they can't hear it or find the fault yet drving it I know it's obviously a problem.

There is only less then a year on warranty and I don't want them to break ehrn it goes out of warranty

had it on mine once i put new wheels on it...... got the bearing replaced and it went.

Best think to do it jack it up and see if the wheel moves when you shake it. :)

I'll see if I can do that sometime this week. Thanks for the info.

The wheel bearing on my girlfriends old corsa collapsed when we were driving to the garage to get it replaced, not fun, but at least we were only doing 30mph.
