reversing lights staying on

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Thanks for the replies

The fuse box is not the same as the book tells you, so your description could well be more accurate, but surely this would only be if the lights didn't come on?

It's nice to know there's no relay, as I had problems with the relays when water got in through the bonnet catch pull a month ago.

A bad earth could well be the problem, and i will take a look at that.

If not, new switch here i come :-)

I would always suggest you check the relevent fuse first - it's easy to do and gives an indication of shorts in the wiring.

Before you go chasing earth faults or shorts, an easy test is to remove the bulb out and check the voltage to a good ground.

You've checked the fuse so the above tests the switch (provided no other bulbs are lit and the reversing light is not dimmed).
