Real World vRS MPG

Featured Replies

Guys/Gals

I know I may have been able to search for this but I'm just about to leave to go and look at a mk2 TFSi vRS for SWMBO.

I've read spec sheets, reviews, etc but I'm interested to know what mpg figures owners get day-to-day???

Cheers

Day to day fuel consumption vary's on what type of driver you are and what kind of journeys you take.

I have a leaden right foot and take a lot of short journeys combined with the drudgery of longer motorway stints and overall averaged around 27mpg whereas others are managing low to mid 30's quite easily.

Harry on the otherhand will be lucky to get into the 20's, the nutter! ;):D

Bit of a mixed bag! I don't hang around, but do a lot of long trips with the cruse control on, and when driving like this, I can usually get about 37mpg. However... if I'm "out for a drive"... I can get it down to low 20's without any effort :D !

I did a stint the other week to see just how econiomic I could drive and I got it to just over 40mpg, however I think if you drove like that all the time, you might get other road users expressing their concern :P !! It sort of defeated the object of getting a petrol vRS!! So I think I'll just enjoy it & not worry too much !

sign up on Spritverbrauch berechnen und Autokosten verwalten and have a look at the cars on there, for a non turbo 2.0 fsi i can see drivers getting between 7-8l/100km and a couple getting more or less of that figure. once signed up on there you can add a nice little icon to go at the bottom of your sig to show you and others what your currently running at for mpg etc.

Hi I get 36 on average with 70% fast and 30% town. I also can get the trip computer reading 43 MPG if driven at 50 mph average.

Over the last 3000 miles i have done my maxidot reports 31mpg with mix driving, town, fast and cruising and the car is remapped with nearly 240bhp( at the moment;). On long journey's it's quite economical especially on motorways and even cruising at 80-90 mph i have seen 41mpg over 75 miles.

I think however if there weren't speed limits or the cops didn't have such a clampdown on speeding the mpg would be a lot lower than 30mpg.

2 month average of 31.5mpg, but thats with 30/70 spirited/normal driving...

My work run in the morning gets 36mpg... 32 on the way back...

Motorway it will get 34-37mpg, sticking to the limit...

My average is about 26 over the last 60 K with very mixed driving, cross country blasts, motorway cruising at 80-95.

Revo stg 2+ etc can get low teens when really giving it some beans.

Gaz

I usually sneak just about 30mpg on a tank, sometimes dip just below.

Lot of short journeys unfortunately which don't help.

See below for mine - but thats made up from a hell of a lot of long run's and not much fun time....

A decent motorway run will see high 30's, however the minute you put your foot down on a B Road or crawl through heavy traffic for any lenght of time it soon drops into the low 20's....

About 36 mpg for average driving, with up to 42 mpg if you drive like you

are running on fumes :)

Low 20's for normal driving

see mine below. from memory, it covers approx 15000 miles some pretty aggresive, some remarkably sedate (pipe and slippers worn out!)

:)

Have had 40mpg on a long motorway run on cruise.

But normally about 33-35.

It does drop a fair bit in the cold weather.

I have been getting around 35mpg over the course of a full week in the car. Thats based on a 25 mile round trip of 60/50 mph limited roads to and from work. Sometimes on a friday im looking as high as 38, but then the weekend driving around town knocks it back to mid to low 30's. I have to say that i drive it carefully most of the time with a quick blast now and again in the week.
