hi

this is my first posting on Briskoda. Can anyone help me with identifying this noise coming from where the cambelt area is...coming from the left hand side...seems to get louder as the engine warms up.

Also the temperture gauge goes down when im driving along and then creeps back up when sitting in traffic...so was wondering if this noise is some thing to do with the water pump.

It sounds like a dry bearing noise.

I'd get the engine details age etc down sharpish before someone shouts at you.

sound to me like the waterpump impellor has broken up pretty common as they are made of plastic get it sorted sharpish before you cause any other damage ie headgasket!!!

the cambelt and tensioner will need replacing during the repair your looking at a few hundred quid to sort it, lots cheaper than a head gasket though!!!

ok...forgot that I posted this.....been told that my car dosent have a cambelt...it has a chain instead
