New Octavia January 2009?

Featured Replies

According to Carmagazine the facelift Octavia will not be due in showrooms until January 2009, so I guess i've got a bit more time to save! Although, if true, that's a couple of months later that the dealers around this way expected. I guess that gives dealers three months to clear down the current stock levels.

Carmagazine also suggest that prices will see little or no change. Whether that's speculation or fact I do not know but given the current economic climate Skoda would be stupid to do otherwise.

I think January is about right for the arrival of the new Octavia. Let's hope that's in the UK!

I'd be amazed if the prices changed much: the Octavia is already rather close to the Superb in price. There is room for upspeccing the Octavia though: nowadays you'd expect curtain airbags and stability control as standard on a family car.

I was interested in reading the spec names would folllow the Superb's S, SE and Elegance. (I think I read somewhere else the current terms would remain). I wonder if they're comparable though as the Superb Elegance is more like a current L&K I feel.

I'd have thought there would still be a "basic" Octavia ie equivalent to Classic still as they sell well, bringing a largish car in the reach of a smaller budget. (Unless they're trying to lose the association with budget branding). I guess we'll have to wait and see.

Oh yes, I've been following all the 'New Octavia' threads since postponing my decision to buy a new one a month or so back. At that time the dealers were talking November 2008 for the facelift so it's a little disappointing to see I'll have to wait another couple of months if the article is right .

Of course I'm now champing at the bit to hear the prices confirmed, to see if some of the healthy discounts still hold true and to see what equipment will come with each trim level.

I'm guessing that the Elegance with leather pack should do nicely!
