Hi

For the past few week the all the gauges in my 1999 Octavia 1.8 SLXi Est have started working intermittently. I am thinking that there must be a bad earth somewhere! Does anyone know where the gauges are earthed too? Or has anyone come across this problem before. I mentioned it at a dealers and they said that it is probably the instrument panel that needs replacing. They started talking about at least 500 plus labour, so any help would be gratefully received.
