Getting my VRS TDi tomorrow!

Featured Replies

Hi all,

The day has almost arrived! Picking up my 1yr old VRS TDi tomorrow, looking forward to the 5hr drive home to test out the car.

Will let you know what I think!

Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Take it easy for the first few miles, we don't want you stripping the tyres too soon!

You are travelling a long way for the car. Hope you have lots of fun on the way home. Whats the spec on the car?

Nothing better than a new car to you :) Enjoy :)

what MPG do you usually get?? as im looking at swapping from my fabia to an octavia but dont realy want to loose any MPG?? ive got all the offical figures i think but wana c what u got from ur 5 hour trip? or waht eva else uv done

Bumble- I regularly get 45mpg out of my TDI Vrs on my 10 miles to work each day (mixture of a,b and motorway). On a long run I get at least 50mpg and have managed 55mpg but of course it all depends on how you drive it!!!

Hope this helps

There are several threads on this mpg subject if you have a search, but for me; I get around 40-42mpg, although now seems better after 26E6 remap/upgrade now getting 42-44mpg and I always drive very briskly. :D;)

45mpg or better is frequently reported from vRS TDi drivers and only less than 40mpg if you are really ragging it.

Sorry to say I am lucky to see 42mpg, but I don't generally hang around (when it is safe to do so !!!! )

Hi guys,

Well so far, I love it!

Spec is as follows:

VRS TDi

Race Blue

18" Alloys

Dual Climate and Jumbo Box

CD Changer

Electric Windows all round

IPod Prep

6500 miles on the clock.

On the drive home I got 47mpg, but I reckon the engine isn't even bedded in yet.

Looking forward to many miles of happy motoring!

Cheers!

Glad you are enjoying it. Mine was doing similar figures at around that mileage. Alot of people on here say it needs to get to at least 10k before it loosens up. Mine has done 17k now. I started to see higher mpg after 15k (but that was around the same time that diesel went to silly money so I may have been driving a little more carefully at that time too!!!!). Sounds a good standard spec car (best colour I might add too) sounds similar to mine although I have the rear parking sensors too (making me a very lazy when revering- just go back til I hear the beeps!!!).

Any plans to change/modify anything?

I recently put in a handsfree bluetooth kit (Bury CC9060) which integrates well with the stream head unit and gives good funcitonality.

No real plans to modify anything yet, although a couple of things take my fancy...

1) Cruise control..... any thoughts?

2) Remap!!! maybe in a few months :)
