Network cable question

Featured Replies

They can be useful, but generally, if you plug it in and you have a 1 gig connection, all 8 wires are OK.

The tester only tests for continuity and not "quality of signal".

But I would get one so that if you don't have a working connection, you know which wire(s) to pull out and redo (if on the punch down end) so you don't have to rip out the working ones.

Of course, if an RJ45 is badly crimped, you can only chop the cable and recrimp

I'm quite technical when I want too be

And I don't need lower latency to cap yo a$$ with your peasant connection .5meg :rofl:

Its only peasant in the evening between 6.30 and midnight

Besides i can manage 0.75mb when i connect thru my mobile :P
