stereo facia

Featured Replies

I cannot for the life of me find a facia plate to put a cd player into a favorit, I asked in Halfords, bass jackasses (otherwise known as bass junkies) who might aswell of took the piddle out of me when I asked for one for that car and looked on the net. No luck :(

Help?

nobody? :/

What shape/size of hole are you trying to adapt to get the stereo to fit?

You don't need one. Remove the old stereo. Underneath (easy to get to with models without centre console) there are 2 screws into caged nuts which hold a plastic cage in. Best way is probably to take this out and fit your new cage to it. With the new stereo will be a surround trim which will clip on the front.

You don't need any kind of wiring adapter, but you may benefit from wiring the switched live wire on the stereo into the ignition live (as it is kept live all the time). Probably only worth doing if you find the stereo drains the battery though.

ahh.. When I got the car there is just a hole and quite a big space around the stereo so it looks stupid when theres a stereo floating around in the hole.

il try and get a picture up tomorow

If you need a plastic cage thing I have a spare one I could send you, I'll try find it and get a pic.

That's all it is. There's 2 square nuts that should sit in the 2 plastic retaining bits but not managed to find those yet. Should correspond with two holes in the bottom of the dash.

A felicia one would be exactly the same I think as they share the same lower dashboard design.

if i had that, i would glue a trip of wood or aluminium to the sides and the bottom and the top aligned and fix the cd player there

im actualy trying to get something like that, right now, i just have a hole where the radio should be

Chris, try Jorely. Cepheuz, no idea if he'd ship to the Carribbean or not.

What do you mean jorely?

would you want anything for that anewman?

I've got the dreaded, what women would call man flu :( (that or the flu)

Jorily is at Skoda Parts - Jorily. The Skoda Parts Shop - Probably the UKs largest independent skoda parts supplier and also sells on ebay. You can contact them and ask about any parts they don't have listed that you're after as usually they're able to get hold of anything in my experience.

I've figured out this is the front end and there's a bit snapped off on the top right corner. Don't think it would be visible from the driver's position where it is under the ash tray, or with a bit of crafting/filler etc might be bodgeable. Have managed to find the square nuts and screws. Happy to send for nothing if interested (PM me address).

Does your model have the 6"x4" Blaupunkt door speakers? They're not bad for stock speakers in a car but these have caught my eye... :rubchin: Guess the ultimate solution would be a complete custom installation with components and amps though.

I allready have half a custom install, I have a friend who has started up his shop called Modified sound, Customs in wolverhampton and they knocked up a quick box into the centre console with crossover and a component speaker set. I'l get some pictures of the build in the centre console and a picture of the sub i'm using, the sub is in there at the moment but I need to sell the box a.s.a.p because I will be building another one of my own to build in on one side with a bit of fibreglass and chicken wire. The box I have I made for my old Clio and it was ready to be built in properly before I rolled the car.. so now im stuck with an oversized box :)
