Car seats and dust.

Featured Replies

Just noticed today, whenever i sit in the car dust starts to float around, so i got the vaccum out and vaccumed the seats this seemed to get rid of some of it so i opted to banging the seats with one window open one side and the door the other plus the vaccum waving about to try and such as much dust out of the air as possible. Once this was done i re vaccumed the seats and dusted down the sides.

Question is how or what is the easiest way to remove dust from the seats, obviously its dirt and other particles that stick to you that get pushed into the seats, just hadnt had this problem with other cars.

is a problem in most of my cars and just regular hoovering is the way to go.

ok, i always do the seats with the vaccum, but noticed once i started to whack them how bad they really were.

try using a brush to loosen the dust, then hoover

Best option is to just an extractor eg a vax or similar as this will wet the dust and pull it all out. At the same time you can clean your seats and carpets/mats.

Drive along with windows open and someone beating the seats to loosen the dust

just wondering if there is also something i could use in the car to attract the dust to (like a dust magnet of some kind).

No because dust isn't magnetic. Static electric might work, but at the end of the day the best way to get it out for good is as I said via an extractor machine such as a Vax or rug doctor etc.

i know that dust isnt magnetic, im using the phase dust magnet as an example. i know something static would attract it and that is what im looking for, im sure saying dust magnet (something that is attracted to it) was a valid way of explaining it.

I've got a dust magnet. take an old LP and rub it with a soft cloth - loads of dust gets attracted to it so therefore it must be a dust magnet!

i know that dust is magnetic...

Are you sure? ;)

The LP idea is a good one though, they always attract dust.

You can eat dust its very good when dieting. According to Fat fighters on Little Britain.

Dust,.......... anyone......................dust lol

Well... if you'd have had leather seats there wouldn't be a problem of dust getting stuck in them... Just ON them! hehe

might be worth driving with windows open every now and then aswell.
