Electric Window issue?

Featured Replies

Not sure if its a problem or if I'm doing something wrong. Either way its doing my head in!

We have recently bought an '07 Octavia 1.9 TDI Ambient and several times now we have come back to the car and all 4 windows have been open by about 2 inches.

I have tried to recreate this (by pressing the lock button twice, holding it for a second or so etc doing the same with the unlock when Ive locked it) but it hasn't happened when I have been wanting it to happen! Don't think it is when we come back to the car and unlock as I'm sure we would hear the windows opening, although its strange that we don't hear it when we lock the car.

Has anyone come across this before? Any help?!

One cause is sitting on the unlock button, another could be water ingress affecting the convenience ECU. If its the latter then its covered by warranty, so maybe a dealer trip is in order.

Also remember only push the lock button ONCE when locking. Twice disables deadlocks and ultrasonics.

I only mention this as you mention hitting it twice in your post

I have had my Octavia L&K for 2 and a half years and it has done this several times (maybe 4 or 5 times). I've never mentioned it to the dealers as it has never done it sufficiently close to taking it for a service. It did it today though after I went out to the car to get something at work. I'm sure it does it on locking not unlocking. I had mine open all the way down once.

It first happened when the car was quite new so I don't think it's water ingress.

Was browsing the forum and saw something about a auto window close if you hold the lock button down. Maybe it is a malfunction relating to this.
