1.2 gearbox cover thingy :(

Featured Replies

Hi guys, did then clutch friday n saturday evenings.. and today!

Almot finished, but then I broke the cover to the gearbox...

It's the cover inside the front wheel arch, bolts on with 5 bolts... My jack slipped and put a huge dent into it, and saw the gearbox oil dribbling through and all over the drive! AAAHHH!!!!:(

Anyways, my question is, that little plate, can I take it off without the gearbox internals all falling out? Is it simply a dust cover? I didn't want to take it off, as I don't know what might fall out from behind, or break or something :S

Can anyone help please! Need my car back on the road! (Next is my mums car.. her bloomin clutch went all weird.. Cant get into gear! Clutch cable is fine tho, and gears engage fine with engine off!

Anyways.. Ta again for your help!!
