Reversing bleeper

Featured Replies

Good morning, My wife recently bought a Fab ll 3 1.4 16v and is absolutely delighted with it. There is one minor niggle and that is the bleep bleep bleep reversing sound, she can hardly hear it. Does anyone know if it is possible to increase the volume of the reversing bleeper. Thanks

Read the manual....

On your radio press menu or the music symbol, its one of the options in there.

I think you just turn up the volume on the radio (to what you want) whilst it is bleeping and it then remembers the new setting.

Thanks for the advice, unfortunately there is no mention in the handbook, and turning the radio up simply masks the warning bleeper noise. Thanks anyway. I will simply have to teach her how to reverse WITHOUT the bleeper..........I am in trouble now :)

If you turn the radio down while in reverse it will automatically lower the radio volume to that level each time you select reverse and then revert to the previous level when you take it out of reverse.

There is also a setting in the menu for this - press the sound button (music note) and then select the next menu and the next menu again with the bottom right button by the screen. PDCVOL is on the left.

You can also set the speed dependent volume control (called Gala for some reason:confused:), the traffic announcement volume and the volume the radio switches on at.

Doesn't make the beeps any louder but makes them easier to hear.

I assume you're also getting the graphic display showing on the stereo when you select reverse. I find this really handy and a big advantage over a normal PDC system.

Thanks Steve that was useful. cheers

I am sorry that I do not know whether or how you can increase volume. Is your wife hard of hearing as ours is quite unmissable. The radio volume is automatically much reduced. It may be that your car has a problem.

You can also set the speed dependent volume control (called Gala for some reason:confused:)

GALA - Geschwindigkeitsabhängigelautstarkeregelung

Roughly translated: Speed dependent loud regulation

Wow.

That's a mouthful!

You'd have thought they would have just called is SDVC (speed dependent volume control) like everyone else!
