Oh my lord. How long did it take me to notice this. I had tried the center armrest out whilst driving and thought "hrrm, dunno why people like this - it's well uncomfortable..."

But - ahem - turns out I was releasing the catch when it was "up" then letting go of the catch and dropping the arm until it stopped. I had absolutely no idea that you could press the catch in and drop it even further ... quite a few closely spaced ratchet points to find just the right height for your arm ...

I am so in need of being called a numpty ...

You're a numpty! Different numpty dept than me though!

But at least you have an armrest which is more than I have !
