i had an amstrad cpc6128 with the 3" disc drive and a colour moniter (all 27 of them lol)

That was a very progressive and quite powerful machine in many ways, but just badly supported and with a dumb and expensive disk format. ISTR they came with CP/M, and there was a colour chart for coders printed on the top of the drive that showed they had no provision for greys in hardware - not surprising that all of the games looked like they were made by Fisher Price

I'd still argue that the machine had the best version of WEC Le mans though..

Ah I seem to remember this is probably the only computer game ever I managed to fully complete all levels on

..... my vote goes to the speccy.
