I picked up my new Octavia today after part exchanging my Fabia vRS. It's a 56 plate L&K 2.0 TDi PD in silver with pretty much every toy you can possibly think of. Black leather interior, 17" alloys and xenons on top of the usual stuff you get with the L&K. I've only driven it home from the dealership but I'm pretty pleased with it - it's not quite as quick as the Fabia was but it's not really that sort of car - it's still got loads of low down grunt and feels a lot smoother than the Fabia did. Anyhow, just thought I'd say hey, I posted a bit in the Fabia section but will be keeping an eye on this section now too. Cheers guys. Mike

Great choice. I have the Estate, but unfortunately without the xenons, but thankfully without the 17" wheels. I have fitted a DPT box and it is now much quicker and more economical.

Cheers mate, what's a DPT? Did you not like the 17" wheels? What can I expect from the economy? It was showing around 28mpg on average over the 5 mile journey home - thought it'd be much higher than that!

Have a look at the DPT box thread. it is a Diesel Performance Tuning box, ups power from 140 to 170bhp & torque from 320Nm to 380Nm. My maxidot over 3,500 miles has never shown an average less than 50mpg. I like the look of the 17" wheels, but as road noise is an issue with Octavia's the more give in the 16" wheels means less road noise transmitted into the car.

I am having noisekiller install their stuff tomorrow morning to reduce the noise levels inside the car. My problem is that my previous car was a BMW 530d and that was very quiet. The Skoda isn't (but cost less than half to buy).

Nice looking car, think the Pegasus wheels are the best, coupled with the sports suspension
