Hi to all on the Briskoda site. I'm new to Skoda having just bought an 05 Octavia Estate (ex company car from a friend). Site seems well managed and a lot of helpful advice from members so I'm hoping you may be of assistance.

I've bought a Witter detachable towbar from an 06 estate off of e-bay. I have fitting instructions for the bar which I don't see as being a problem.

However, the bar also came with twin electrics (complete with 2 relays) but I only intend to fit for single electrics for a small trailer.

I have obtained the wiring instructions for the 7 way bypass relay (inc buzzer) but having read various threads on this site I still cannot find any reference to the wiring on the Octavia estate, i.e. which wires do I connect the socket/relays to.

Has anyone got the info on the colours of wires that I'll need to tap into?

Cheers for the quick reply and link. This is one of the threads that I had looked at earlier (and printed off for reference), but its for a different wiring kit.

All I'm looking for are the colour codes of the Octavia wires so I can then use scotch locks to tap into the right wires for the single electrics and relay(s).

I would avoid scotch locks , these can cause problems and the last thing you wont is a short on a multiplexed car,It might be best to look for a dedicated wiring kit this will have plugs that piggy back out of the rear light's try towsure

Amen another hater of the trusty old scotch lock !!! they are the devils work just don't do it!!!!! :thumbdwn: If you do need one i have a genuine euro to 7pin adapter for that if your interested!?!

I've used Towsure before for earlier towbars but this dedicated wiring is new to me but it looks straightforward on their site.

I think it was the Yorkshireman in me:rolleyes: that didn't want to let go of the extra brass too easily but I'm going to go for the dedicated wiring option:thumbup:.

I'll let you know how I get on.
