Skoda Stream Backlight Glitch

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

On Friday morning my dad was listening to the radio with the engine switched off keys were in ignition and also headlights switched off. When l got in the car he started the engine and turned the lights on, the stereo display wasn't on but all the buttons were lit up. The speakers popped, the stereo turned off and came back on all lit up as normal. Any idea's would be most welcome.

Thanks Again

Andy

I have similar fault?? just like you when i start engine the unit switches light up and the rest is blank but when i switch headlights off and on again the unit lights up and works ok  does it occasionally.

Voltage 'brownout' caused by starting the engine probably caused the glitch.

Mine used to do that, the dealership updated the firmware on the steam unit and it never did it again. This was last year.

Apparently it's a software glitch.

My '06' Octy used to do this, but like Oli above after a software update it never happened again.

Any update on this? I have a similar problem and also a stuck CD with the terminal "CD ERROR" message. Just wondering if I can use the used Skoda warrantee on this or dig deep in the pockets.....(boohooo..)

My Stream unit was changed by the dealer, but every now and again the new unit does not light up, although the radio is working OK. I switch off & back on again and lights are back on again.

Well the car went in and to date no issue's whatever they did they cured it. Probably a firmware upgrade.

Thanks for all your answers much appreciated.
