Price query vRS

Featured Replies

Hi all

Thanks for all your advice / comments so far.

I think I am going to buy a CR 170 vRS having driven one on sunday - will probably go for another drive, and maybe check out a Superb just for comparisons sake.

Just wanted to ask what kinda prices people have managed to haggle for this model (if you could post your options / gearbox too) ?

Also, is it possible to get dealers to match the cash prices quoted on places such as Drive The Deal ? £17,500 for a DSG and a few options seems doable, especially if they will do the 8.9% apr deal on it. Drive the Deal PCPs are all about 11-12% when I quote on them.

Any advice appreciated for a NOVICE car haggler (i.e. never bought a new car).

Just bought mine through drive the deal.

You can buy through them and still get the Skoda PCP finance from the dealer (as I did), the only offer you the PCP quote, you dont have to use it.

Thanks for the reply.

Did they put you in contact with a dealer local to you?

did you call them (DtD) or just work completely via the computer?

I would require PCP, so how does the process work?

It seems you have two options, buy with finance (at 12% ish) or buy without finance...

There doesnt seem to be a way to click a link and get put in contact with a dealer at the advertised price.

Feel free to PM me if you have the time, id appreciate a bit of a guide from someone who has recently successfully negotiated a deal in this way.

I you click buy with finance then that just provides you with a quote which they'll put through to see if you get accepted. If you do then you have they're 'offer' of finance but you don't have to take it.

When the Skoda dealer (at the mo there's just 1 skoda dealer they use I believe) contacts you then ask them for a quote. As long as you tell dtd you're not using them for finance they're fine.

My quote for PCP was £245 though dtd, through Skoda it was £212! My rate was 8% though, its just gone up this Oct to 8.9%.

What kinda deposit, mileage and term length was that PCP to get it so low?

£4000 deposit (any higher is pointless).

3 years, 14,000 miles per year. £16,475 price of the car.

That was on 8%, its now 8.9% which would make it around £220 p/m with a car at the same price.

There have been / are some for sale recently that are approx 12 months old going for around 10K*, it may be worth thinking if new is worth 7.5K on top of a 12 month old one?

*not sure what spec they are tho'

Plus the dealer might be willing to do an even keener deal to shift the car before the end of the month (always the best time to haggle).

Indeed, end of months are usually good times to do deals as we try to tie up the last few deals of the month to make up targets.

I have also got a CR 170DSG if you're local and wanted to drive one.

If you want me to work out any PCP figures for you just pop me a PM and let me know the details.

Based in Manchester :) but thanks.

Prepared to travel for the right purchase deal.

I personally havent seen any CR vRS anywhere NEAR £10k if they were I'd have bought one by now

I would prefer to buy one from a dealer in stock and can compromise on the spec a bit, there are some things I definitely want however.
