Cheap car for commuting to work

Featured Replies

I am going to have a daily commute of around 50-60miles and have a budget of around £1,500. The main thing it needs to have is decent fuel consumption and reliability and if it has half decent performance and any extras that is a bonus. I have looked at all sorts from vectra, mondeos, passats, octavias...ect. The best one so far I think that I have found is a vectra 2.2 dti sri between Y and 51 plate you are looking at just a touch over £1,500 with over 100,000 miles. The only problem with that is I am not to sure how reliable it would be. Any other cars you guys can suggest??

Thanks

Vectra's a good choice...very reliable too, as long as it's been regularly serviced

If you're after something really cheap to run why not buy a small petrol instead of a big old tech diesel? If its purely for commuting you might aswell try making it as wallet friendly as possible.

Skoda Felicia :D
