There's No Escape For Funky J !!

Featured Replies

Well, yep it's happened, Mr coil pack has finally gone. Went this morning and am currently waiting for mr AA to come out

So no more of :drive1: for a while. Not very handy when you drive across the country for a living

I just thought that I might escape it, ha ha I don't think so.

As a word of caution to you all, I reckon that this has been about to happen for some weeks. It started about 4 weeks ago, when the car started to kind of lurch of hold back slightly between gears, especially when changing down from 4th into 3rd and particularly going from 3rd to 2nd.

My dealer checked it and no fault codes, so I reckon it's been a slow deterioration.

Well that's that folks:mad:

Funky_J hopefuly the supply situation is better now and you wont have long to wait

Thats exactly what happened to my car , it showed those same signs as your car for a few days before finally going pop!

Coil packs are available. Try your local VW/Audi dealer if your Skoda dealer hasn't got one.

It happened to me on a very, very cold, snowy, morning. Not chuffed.

Well just thought i'd finish today's saga off. The coil pack it was alright, even the chap in the AA van said "ah yeh coil mate, been out to loads of these"

Well hats off to Forward Motors who said call AA first and then told me that they would order a coil pack then and there. Reckons it'll be there tomorrow.

So AA man straight away booked me a courtesy car, which ended up being an Octy 1.9TDI :D Good old motor, don't usually like diesels but pretty impressed with this one!!

Interestingly the first recovery vehicle out was sent away by me as the spolier on the RS is so deep that it wouldn't get up the ramp, so they had to despatch a low-loader instead, which the spoiler only just cleared

So those of you who like the car on the deck, take note or you'll need a crain to get it recovered

Well glad it went just outside the office and the car hire place is 200 yrds away, what luck:D

Cheers Dennis by the way for the info. Seems VAG might have actually got some in stock at long last, can't think why

I also had to use the services of Forward Motors when my WRC had a few electrical problems on the M1.

I can honestly say I have not been in a more professional setup than this one, very quick too.

Top Marks on all fronts

(Even the Coffee is good  )
