LCD Multifunction Display Visibility

Featured Replies

I have recently bought a 05 plate Octavia II Elegance 1.6 TSI Tipauto. I find that the LCD multifunction display impossible to read in daylight except in bright sunlight conditions.

The LCD backlight is only illuminated when the external lights are switched on but I don't want to drive around in daylight with the lights on.

Can the wiring be readily modified so that the LCD backlight is illuminated whenever the ignition is switched on? This would solve my problem.

Is there any other potential solution? Any suggestions greatfully received.

I usually always drive around with the side lights on now, although i'll admit the display isn't that easily seen in daylight.

you sure its a 1.6TSI on a 05 plate:confused:

Why dont you just use sidelights. It will still illuminate then and you only risk wearing out a couple of 5w bulbs
