Claying...

Featured Replies

Gonna give the car a good going over tomorrow, including using my clay bar. Now should I wash the car down again after I've used the clay bar or can I go straight to polishing?

Wouldn't hurt, What lubricating medium do you intend to use?

Got a Meguiars clay kit with it's own lubricant. So I'll give it a wash after claying then. Will be the first time I'll have used it.

I don't wash after claying if i'm polishing, just a quick rinse.

I'd rewash and dry before polishing. just a quicky though;)

RTFM, smart ar$e.

Having read the packaging no mention of washing again is mention, meerly a follow up with Maguires Gloss, hence I asked others opinions.

How'd it go?

Ah yes, went well I thought. Highly impresive stuff. Now she's clayed, polished, and waxed the paint is so much smoother to touch. Still so more work to do to get more light swirls improved, but getting there. Will get some pics up tomorrow.

Having read this thread, I recomend a rise over with the jet wash after claying

I did this to the Octi this morning, wiped down, 1 coat of AG resin polish, used the clear wax in the claying kit and one shiny Skoda :D

Right got my pictures sorted, sorry for the delay but with recent circumstances it was the last thing on my mind.

Process was,

Pressure wash worst dirt off,

wash using 2 bucket method,

rinse and dry,

clay and rinse, using Meguires clay bar kit,

polish using AG SRP,

Wax. Hoped to use my Collinite but it hadn't arrived in time, so borrowed some of my sisters car metalic wax, think it was turtle wax.

Then cleaned wheels, tyres and applied wax and tyre gloss.

The finished product.
