Have 08 vrs tdi purchased new april,was told i would be better off having the service done every 10,000 miles or 12 mths ,yet on the service indicator it says 7200 miles to go or 585 days i have done 7120 miles to date so this makes a total 14320 miles when it has a service,which service schedule is this as it appears to not be one or the other !

Sounds like a variable QG1 to me.

The dealer can set it to variable or fixed as required. If you are a low mileage driver you would be better off on QG0 fixed annual servicing.

What would you call low mileage ? I reckon i will do approx 10 to 12 thou a year.

If you do that sort of mileage a 12 month/10,000 mile fixed interval might be more suitable, I think QG1 is x miles or a maximum of 2 years.

I do about 50,000 a year so obviously the variable is more suitable
