Im an octie 2 1.8tsi owner from China. Just wondering what the user manual recommended service period is in UK. Well, in the chinese version. it's 7500km(4600 miles)for the first 2 services and 10000km(6250 miles) for the rest. I guess the it's longer in the UK version as the petrol quality is a lot better there.

We have variable or fixed service intervals.

Variable gives approx 18,000 miles between services (28000kms)

Fixed is every 10,000 miles (16000kms)

Fixed servicing is basically an oil change service and full service which alternate whereas variable is always a full service. Variable servicing uses a different oil, and sensors within the engine monitor the oils condition.

There is no need for a more professional reply, those posted by me are the intervals for the UK market.

Australia is every 15,000km or 12 months - whichever comes first.

There are no early 2000km checks, half services or anything like that at the beginning - just get the car at the dealer drive for 15,000km, come back & get a service done.

If you operate under "Severe Conditions" (refer owners manual) service is every 7500km.

The owners manual is quite specific & the dealership should also know.
