Dark Dials

Featured Replies

Does anyone else find that when driving in a wooded area that doesn't require the headlights to be on they can't see the dials on the vRS that well?

They seem darker than on the standard Fabia.

I'm still getting used to the car and drive through some tree lined (wooded might be going a bit too far!) area with changing speed limits and Gatso warning signs which went up a few months ago with no sign of the cameras yet.

Is there anything I can ask the dealer to do to turn the dial illumination on all the time or do I need to put the sidelights on in the middle of the day as if it's a Volvo?

dont ask y but i always drive with my sidelights on... mainly because of when i travel underbridges etc... but tbh i think if you drive through dark wooded areas its worth just having your sidelights on as apposed to the hassle of a dealer

I quite often just drive with my headlights on. Having a silver car means that to some people, you are seemingly invisible otherwise.

I found the dials on all 3 of the Vag cars I have owned now are very dark and I have to use sidelights most of the time it seems to be a common theme I think.

There is a facility within the switch where you can enable the side lights with the ignition, just like on Volvo's.

This has been done on the Polo 9n so in theory should be possible for the Fabia. Delaers may know somemore detailed information.

Thanks for that.

I've got to pop over to the dealer to pick up an accessory so I'll ask while I'm there.

Agreed, the dash is very grey so I tend to have sidelights on more often than in past cars....

When i had my Ibiza the dials were lit permanently even if the headlights were off. I think its the same in Audi's. Is there a setting in VAG-COM that can do this for us Skoda people?

I like this feature on my Ibiza!!

Going off on a tangent here, but a silver car is more likely to have an accident than any other colour!

My Ibiza is silver & I've found that people tend to pull out in front of me than any of my previous cars!

Same on the Fabia Elegance - I thought it was just me, but it seems not :) Will be interested if there is a VAG-COM fix though...........

Would have preferred it if he wasn't on my side of the road, overtaking at the approach to a blind corner
