Happens on standard cars... just whack a hybrid on it... least it never took anything major with it :)

VERY few Fabia had Garretts.

I'm struggling to see how a decat can influence turbo failure. More likely to be poor servicing, not letting the turbo cool down/warm up correctly, or not giving it beans often enough! :P

and therein lies the problem :P

I would put money on the two not being connected. I ran one on my golf for 40k and had no problems. I know the fabia's turbo is weaker, but driven reasonably the turbo would be fine.

I did 6 kkk's in, with and without decat. I too do not think it is directly connected.

Yeah allard used to do VT3's aswell but they've since been removed from there site, theres no real advertisation / prices / pics etc for PD130 turbo's etc - well not that i've seen really

Id say a Turbo Dynamics Stage 2 should do nicely :)

Its on here, ebay and pistonheads. I thought Auto trader was a bit pointless with it being like it is. I'll advertise any bits and deals on here if it doesnt sell on Ebay by Wed.

I find that after the remap + decat, it is very hard to not use the turbo when accelerating and this becomes an issue when cold, i have to press the throttle very very lightly and very gingerly accelerate to slowly warm the turbo up. I was told that this is why some people blow their turbo's rather than the fact that it's remapped and decatted.

Loads of people run decats and remaps on SEATCUPRA on the Ibiza PD130's with no problems

We're a bit funny about decats on the fabia's standard kkk, there's virturally no back pressure and it's difficult to stop the turbo from running away at high engine speeds..

As people have probably pointed out, the KKK is a weak unit, and is better replaced with a garret.

Ive had 2 turbo's go whilst having a cat, and one go without... the one without mostly due to running 2.0BAR for a laugh :D

Like everyone else, dont think if you get a de-cat your turbo will blow up. It will blow up as you drive it like you stole it, or nanny it, then try and give it some every couple of years!
