help save the suspension

Featured Replies

Hi, Here's hoping you can help me, I have a 51 plate vrs octavia, normally driven on roads, but my new hobby (pest control on farms) :D involves driving down country farm tracks, and was wondering if there is anyway to uprate the suspension, so that we dont go down on every bump and hole in the track , but can glide over the holes. I will only be going slowly down these tracks (not racing), and don't want to mess up the vrs's suspension. The cheapest option would be gratefully received as just had to replace the front bush's, brakes and drums, cambelt, service ect

thanks

Dave ;)

Scout suspension I am guessing is the best you could do.

Problem you have is that anything that will help you out on the getting over bumps front will have a negative effect on the on road performance.

Drive slower ;)

Seriously, there's not a lot you could do to reduce grounding problems on ridges other than raise the car.

Buy an old land rover.

Or a Suzuki "turnover". You should get one of those with a years tax and test for about the price of a Scout suspension.

Thanks for help, I was looking at old landys as an option (pre 73) but it seems peps with deep pockets are looking as well. Might just buy a old jeep or summat to get around problem, thought "is the new YETI coming in a VRS model??" that might solve everything
