Fabia is taking a beating at the moment - rant!!!!!

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

My poor Fabia is getting battered at the moment and not in the fish and chip shop sense!

Coming home on the motorway a week today, a lorry went past with trailing metal wires / straps hanging over the flat bed and flailing about, needless to say as i was slowing to come off at the junction he came past and whipped my car, i now have nice scuff / cut / slash marks on my back bumper and sill, luckily i got the company name and number and truck reg,

call them up to tell them to call the driver as could cause a nasty accident if they come past a motorcyclist,

been to the body shop and a bill for £211.50 quotes for repaint sill and bumper, but now they are complaining that its too much on paint, £20 on paint £40 on clear coat, they've even called the body shop to double check i've not done it myself which is fair play but they argued with him about the cost for 15 mins, and its a insurance approved place,

now they are not returning my calls, so i left a polite message stating at close of business friday it would be handed to my insurance company

then tonight, i'm standing there washing up and some idiot comes down to the end of the street which is a dead end, no where to go but to reverse back the way he came as everyone does, but oooooooh no, he tries a 1,000,000 point turn, reminded me of scenes from austin powers 1 where he turns that cart round and gets stuck, he got so close to my car i went upstaris to watch and low and behold he hits my car with his drivers door on my front bumper drivers side corner, winds down the window has a look down at it, reverses and buggers off before i could get me shoes on and get out, the mrs got the registration :mad:

so off to the police station to log it all, they have told me he is insured and car is mot'd so not too bad there, and the police officer said he was local, very very local, so fingers crossed in the next street local, will have a look when walking the dog

the police have not got to send the paperwork off wait for it to come back then go out to see him and try to catch up with him and get his insurance details and possibly more (leaving scene without giving details)

not going to report to insurance till i got more info on his details from police thou,

so all in all, its been the worst week of Skoda ownership, so the cars been whipped up the ar5e and smacked in the face, which will both need paint which i'm not happy about

thanks for listening to my rant

Rob

sorry to hear that mate, some people just don't care about there car and assume other people are the same.

I came out of ASDA the other day and saw a lady pushing a trolly away from her car. It slammed right into the front of mine, I then went over and knocked on her window, needless to say she got the impression i wasn't happy and if she hadn't of had kids in the back i would of been more vocal. Lucky she only hit the number plate....... but i don't think she will be doing it again.

I hope you get it sorted soon mate.

had a look in the day and its just made me more angry, no way he could have not noticed he hit my car,

Had someone hit my mazda 3 MPS aero in a motorway service station car park. Left a scrape about 20 CM's long and 10CM's highh and just drove off! I was eating so didnt realise until i returnrd to my car.

Had the wing mirror on my RX8 knocked so is scratched, person drove off again...people are C#cks! They are too worried about an additional £50 on next years insurance premium to stop and do the decent thing!

well fingers crossed once the police get in touch and try to do him for not reporting and giving details he might change his tune, he looked very young and has only has the car since may,

Yeah it's gutting isn't it....... I took my car into a dealer near me recenty for some work - i'll mention no names. When i picked the car up it was filthy, had a look round it and didn't spot anything, so took it home and washed the it to reveal a small scuff on the corner of the nearside rear bumper..... i know it wasn't there before i took it to the garage! i'd only waxed it the day before so would of seen it. i even said to my girlfriend when i dropped it off there, i bet someone scrapes it in the 'very cramped' carpark! Oh well, can't really prove it anyway as i'd already left the premises. and they never looked the car over to note any marks etc like some garages do (i'd bet they are meant to do so though)

Anyway, only a few days later i took the dog to the beach and parked up on the seafront, only to return and find someone has scraped it again! same corner of the rear bumper, but a much larger scrape....... takes the pi$$. Least it was the same spot though, i guess....

I also have a very tiny dent/scratch on my boot, and that is the one that hurts me the most - as i did that one my clumsy a$$ed self! Makes me mad every time i see it........ Must get it sorted soon.

I had a girl bump the car my wife now drives in Comet car park. She and her Mum went into the shop and had the security guy announce it over the tannoy.

I thought ' sounds like my car' and went out, they were waiting and we exchanged details, the lot. All sorted and no problems.

So not everyone is a C**k, have faith in the human race, we only hear about the c**ks, so don't think everyone's the same. Most folks are still sound.

I bought mine in march in imacculate condition and it stayed that way for two months and on the third it got attacked! in the space of a month I had someone trying to lever the boot open creasing the bottom of the boot, a week later when it was parked outside my house some foot prints and dents appeared on the roof. and then a couple of days later someone Carved (i would say scratched but it was alot deeper than that) **** into my bonnet!

And I dont have the money to fix it! so I have to drive around with a black sunstrip over my bonnet!

Some people just dont care! its a horrible situation, So i know how you feel mate!

Time to get insured with a company that will pay out for vandalism damage. Theres more and more of them appearing nowdays, so shouldn't be to hard to find a decent one.

It's all good isnt it, On my day off on tuesday I managed to watch my next door neighbour drive into the front of my car a good old nudge which made it move back and then reverse to drive off! The thing which puzzelled me more was there was no need to drive forwards at all. There was plenty of room behind him. Luckily his new little clio hit directly on the number plate surround, Its not just kids he's a pensioner that are the ones to watch! no damage that i can see on the front end or any snapped clips. When I saw him do it I thought he'll stop and come and say sorry etc because we've never had any problems with the neighbours they talk to my parents in the garden and then he does this... My time will come next may/june when we have some sun and they are sun bathing and there is an accident with the hose pipe maybe even pressure washer depends how my rage developes over the next few months, act of god :D
