Felicia Lights

Featured Replies

Don't know why I didn't ask about this the last time.

I have been looking at possible upgrades for my lights on my Felicia and I was looking at doing the following

Headlights

Upgrade from Halogen Head Lights to Xenon Head Lights what I would like to know is would I need an conversion kits to do this? as going by the info on this site I will need a HID kit.

Rear Lights

Upgrade the brake lights, tail lights, reverse lights and number plate lights to LED's. from the above site.

Indicators

Would like to upgrade to LED's but can not find any for them.

As well as changing my side repeater to clear instead of orange but I have all ready asked about that.

All I am wanting to know is if it is possible to do these upgrades without any modifications of the light units. And would they work.

So has anyone done these upgrades or know anything about them. Any help would be appreciated

thanks

Headlights: You must buy HID kit for H4 cap. Maybe little adjustment of electric.

Rearlights: No problem.

Front indicators: No problem

Side Indicators: You can buy clear LED indicators from VW...

As Skury says, except that I'd recommend getting +50% bulbs from someone like Powerbulbs rather than installing plasma discharge units.

I tried some LED brake lights in my car that a friend had in his and they were really bad! Very dull and not very safe at all really.

I have thought about making my own LED tail lights before.

I think this would involve a circuit board of some type cut to the same shape as the internal light area and filled with LED's to create enough light.

This would fo course mean dismantling the light cluster to insert the board with the lights on and wiring up to the existing bulb holder (could just be soldered on).

As for the side repeaters... just do a search on ebay and pick one that will fit the best... there's loads.

Further though on the side repeaters. I'd be prepared to be proved wrong, but Facelift Octy A4 (like my avatar pic) ones are clear lens and should fit.

Just thought I would come back to this. I have a little project thing I need to do for my course for college (I'm studying NQ in Electrical and Electronic Engineering). All the project is to design a Printed Circuit Board (PCB) the college isn't bothered what it is for as I don't need to make it. It is just to show that I have the ability to design one on my own.

I have decided I would have a go at making a rear LED lighting unit for the Felly. I can easily design the circuit all I need is a link to a copy of the diagram of the rear lighting unit for a 1998 Felly so I can get the dimensions to enable me to design the PCB to fit.

Once I have it designed and if I can get it to work as I plan to build a set for myself afterwards I would be happy to provide the designs to anyone who wants them.
