has anyone else found that when they press the anti hijack lock button on their car that all the doors lock initially, but then my passengers door promptly unlocks, its not a real bother as i dont use it all that often but would like to sort if just for peace of mind

dry joint on one of the microswitches in the passenger door lock maybe?

does the octy 2 have the anti hijack (without opening another thread)?

when i say anti hijack what i mean is the lock button thats inside the car,

think all vags have the possibility of having anti hijack programmed in with vag-com

Seeing something similar on my Octy MkII with the auto closure function which should engage when speed goes over 10mph. All doors lock, something fails and then they all unlock. Intermittent too..... sometimes ok and sometimes fails, even when i manually try to override using the button on the centre console.

Suggestions i've had are that the lock mechanism is stiff on one of the doors. I'm under warranty and plan to let the dealer have a look - just not had time to take the car down.

I will let you know if anything specific is found.

ah right, i thought it was like a panic alarm where you hold the button in and the alarm goes off, something my other car had but cannot seem to find on this one.

I had a similar fault on my 2008 octavia, the car is set up for auto lock at 10mph it locked then when i slowed down for first set of traffic lights it unlocked

driving away again it locked again, think I have sorted with a little help from WD40 spray on driver side handle mechanism/ lock catch mechanism - basically did all the locks and catches - touch wood its been three days now and are working ok again

Yes my mk1 vrs does this.

I programmed it to auto lock via vagcom but it does it when manually using the switch too.

The fault logged is implusable signal or something like that, so I expect it is a microswitch issue.
