Waiting Time for Fabia vRS?

Featured Replies

Just curious as to how long everyone had to wait for delivery of their Fabia vRS? Probably seemed like the longest time of your lives eh?

I`m getting one thats already built and at a UK dealer unregistered, apparently there are quite a few. So no build time wait.... 2 weeks for delivery to my local dealer, valet and sorting out registration, tax etc.... (hopefully just 1 week left to go!)

I was told by drive the deal that it was an 8 week build wait.... but my dealer said longer than that, probably more like 10 weeks wait at the moment!

I had mine ordered before they came out.

First one a saw or sat in was mine the day I picked it up.

That's the one thing worrying me if I need a new how long I would need to wait.

im getting mine from the same place as andysteel - dealer told me if they are coming from the Chek - be 8 weeks - if they are in the Britain, then you could have it in approx two weeks. Im just waiting for the 54 plate - longest 5 weeks ive waited!!!

I'm really thinking about changing, my ten-year old scooby is into the 130K's, not the cheapest car to run, and with my high mileage (20+K pa) I really need diesel power to get me there a little more economically. Fabia vRS seems to have the perfect comb. of power and economy.

Am picking mine up a week on sat! Can't wait! :D

It's torture....

rob1sp - I was in the same possition, Golf VR6, 110k miles, and i am doing 20k pa... the fuel bills were getting large, at 32mpg on the motorway it was costing me quite a bit, and then there were the costs to get it through the MOT every year. I started looking at MK4 Golf GT TDi's but they were expensive for the age/mileage I thought.

Saw the long term test of the Fabia vRS in Autocar, and started investigating.... cant wait to get it now, should cut my fuel bills in half! and give good performance!!

good luck....you know its the right decision!

Same here mate! Am gonna miss the sound of the V6! :(

But aint gonna miss the fuel bills!

Are you buying str8 off, or company car or what? I can't afford to pay out, but can't get company, will have to go for finance deal, any recommendations?

i was struggling to afford to change the vr6, I started looking at PCP agreements, pay

Personal loan here. :(

But by my reckoning, I'll be saving at least

Personal Loans sound good, vRS is just a phone call away it would seem. Anyone want to buy a high mileage Subaru Impreza, perfect condition of course, never been horsed up and down the motorway at unlawful speeds?!?Any other Northern Irish vRS owners about btw?

Andysteele, did you trade in your VR6 or sell it privately? Sorry to be nosey but just wanted to hear other people's experiences as I have never purchased a new car before.

Know the question was for andy, but mine will be getting sold on ebay. I couldn't get an half decent price for it as a trade-in. :(

hi all...

i was offered 2k trade in, which wasnt enough by my standards... so took it away and sold it through autotrader, and got 3k.... just got these 2 weeks to wait between selling the VR6 and picking up the vRS where i have no car, but to me thats worth a grand

swerve, what do you currently own?

  • Author

andysteele what are you driving in the meantime?

swerve, what do you currently own?

190bhp VR6, 3 doors, in dusty mauve. Quite modified. ;)

Been let down by two mates now, who've both said they'll have it, and not fronted the cash. :(

Can't be bothered with the hassle of showing peeps round it, thats why I was keen on a mate taking it, has I know it won't let 'em down.

Had a look on Ebay, and it seems like a good place to try.

Will proberbly (time permitting) get it listed tommorow.

You said you drive an impreza, yeah?

I've seen 5 of these come and go in the last 3 months!

My mates, just don't learn!

robsp1 - thanks for asking..... I`ve borrowed my mum's '93 L 1.0l Polo, 4 speed! but it gets me to work and back, saves waiting for the train and bus...

just got a call from my dealer, car arrives tomorrow!!! can pick up next week when insurance, tax and loan has all been sorted......

trying not to get too excited!

andysteele, how many miles is your round-trip everyday? Bit of a difference with the 1.0 litre engine, takes a while to get up to speed (if you could call it that), my bro has a polo rusting away in the yard while he learns to drive.

Impreza is quite an ironic name for the 1.6 model I own, hardly breathtaking in terms of performance, but for some reason people still ask me what it can do, even though it looks as far removed as possible from the WRX version. ie. as standard, no bonnet vent, alloys, bodykit or high-level wing. The Subaru name seems to make people think that its a flying machine, when sadly it isn't. It has the drinking habit of a more powerful car right enough!

its 35miles each way Cheltenham to Bristol, but M5 all the way so pretty easy

I'm doing 65 each way, takes about 1hr, proper b*****d i tell thee.

I agree mate! They absoluty love 'em round here!

Two of my mates own 'em. One has an L reg WRX and the other an R reg Turbo.

Although the mate with the wrx, has just downgraded from a 2 door sti typeR (330bhp)! Was in the garage more than it was on his drive!!!

The other one, wrote his last one off about 3 months ago, so its just a straight replecement from what he had before.

Having driven all 5 of the ones the mates have had, from the top of the line P1, down to the uk turbo, I'm still to see the attraction! Apart from the obvious of course! :D
