I really need the one for the white mongrel 2.... The program I did have does not seem to work right. Anyone know of any software I can use to access my car and find this number? I really don't want to have to go to my dealer and get all coding work etc done by them = ££££!!!

I don't know, but Skoda isn't even an option - Any chance someone else can send me something, perhaps via MSN? Would be good if proven to work on Fabia vRS platform.

You'll need to buy, or find someone with Vagtacho software & a lead near you.

I bought a lead off ebay & downloaded the software for free from the internet.

This allowed me to obtain the SKC from SWMBO's Fabia after a few tries.

As a bonus this also allowed me to enable "permanently lit needles" and the "miles to empty feature" which was not there as standard, on my Golf.

I reckon it's probably worth buying a cheap lead and software (for all it costs) just to have "in your toolkit" so to speak.

You will have trouble using a genuine USB vag-com lead with 'tacho.

I have a genuine serial port lead, if that matters?

Not to worry though as I've found a local friendly VAG specialist who has it, so chances are I will just go visit his outfit with the white one.

use vag-tacho.

if its keys/immoboliser you should be able to do it with vagcom if not i would point at vag tacho.
